On a personal note - this issue is very touchy with me as I was a crew member for 30 years and never saw such controversy and interference in the wages of the crew. We all have to remember that crew sign up for the job because it is better money than most places they come from, as well as, most of them know the circumstance they are getting in to when boarding the ship. Several crew members remain for many years as it becomes their vocation and their earnings for their families at home. Those who are unable to continue working on board for their own personal reasons, they indeed go home to seek other employment opportunities.
