Fidelio Cruise Corporate Access Module (FC CAM)

Corporate Access application simplifies visitor handling

HAMBURG, Germany, April 2, 2012 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Increased demand for the efficient management of on-board visitors has been the driver for the new Corporate Access application from Fidelio Cruise. A part of Fleet Management System, the Corporate Access Module streamlines the authorisation process for ship visitors, helping to reinforce ship security and raise efficiency.

The software allows cruise lines to monitor and handle from headquarters the large number of requests for on-board visits, and supports cruise line compliance with increasingly strict international regulations on ships' access.

Visitor requests and subsequent approval procedures are typically a manual process involving approval documents transmitted by e-mail. The information is often out-of-date or not completely accurate, and its form often varies between different vessels in a fleet.

"We have created an automated workflow engine that allows the shoreside authorisation process to take place automatically," explains Tony Heuer, Fidelio Cruise President. "Approval is electronically sent to the ship, regardless of its location, allowing cruise companies to control the number of visitors on board at any time. We can create automated swipe cards," he continues, "which are sent to visitors before they board. It also enables production of a fully updated manifest."

Fidelio Cruise's visitor management solution is seamlessly integrated with ship and shoreside software, and facilitates collecting a visitor's personal information in preparation for security procedures; submitting a visit request and managing its approvals; and providing access to visitor records for authorised parties.

All these activities are tracked and logged. Additionally, authorised personnel can flag visitors for "Early Boarding" and/or enable them to make financial transactions whilst on board the vessel.

The application sends notifications via e-mail so that authorised personnel can approve the visits. Responses are tracked from the e-mailed replies.

Fidelio Cruise's Corporate Access Module is also suitable for managing visit requests for cruise lines' own personnel. Employees working ashore or on other vessels in a cruise line's fleet can now be granted access without having to file requests manually, often an inefficient and time-consuming process.

Features include:
  • Centralised visitor records and visit request handling for ships and shoreside locations
  • Automated e-mail approval process
