The 1981 built  ship that startedlife as Europa of Hapag-Lloyd is set to sail its inaugural cruise on 26 March 2012 with details of its itineraries to be released shortly. The announcement of a new addition to the fleet is in response to the continued and growing popularity of the Saga cruise experience.  The 37,301-ton vessel, previously named Bleu de France will undergo a multi-million pound refurbishment planned for later this year.  Saga Sapphire will be overhauled with a stylish and contemporary design throughout to bring her up to the exacting standards Saga Cruise passengers enjoy on the company’s other ships.
