Last Friday (7/30), DHS announced it has produced the first of the so-called Enhanced Tribal Cards (ETCs), which are designed to be compliant with the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative (WHTI) so that Native American tribal members have the proper type of identification allowing them to re-enter the country via land and sea ports of entry.
The Pascua Yaqui Tribe, located approximately sixty miles from the U.S.-Mexico border, is the first tribe to receive ETCs.
