Clipper Group looks for North European shipyard to build double-ended ferries

Following an unsuccessful project in Greece, Denmark’s Clipper Group is looking for a shipyard in Northern Europe to build four 91.4m double-ended passenger/car ferries for its wholly-owned domestic ferry operator Nordic Ferry Services.  The quartet will each be able to carry up to 600 passengers and 110 cars.

Two years ago Clipper ordered a series of five ferries from Greece’s Frantzis Shipyard, in Perama. Only the lead vessel was delivered, Kanhave. Following a number of technical problems and ‘re-building’ in Denmark, this vessel entered service this summer between Saelveg (Samso) and Hou (Jutland).
