Luxury cruise lines are taking some smart steps to attract a younger clientele. Silversea Cruises, Crystal Cruises and Seabourn are among the lines offering shorter sailings designed for, as Silversea says, “time-strapped working professionals” and those who are new to luxury cruising and want a taste of the experience.
“Many travelers today have busy schedules that make it difficult to fit in time for an extended luxury cruise vacation,” says Ellen Bettridge, Silversea’s president of the Americas. “It’s important for us to offer options that cater to these consumers as well as those who have time for longer voyages.”
That said, Silversea is rolling out cruises as short as four days. Its Northern Europe Voyage on Silver Cloud, June 15 to 19, cruises from Hamburg to Copenhagen with fares starting at $1,830 per person, for example.
