SS United States Redevelopment Project Update
Greetings and Happy Holidays. I hope this finds you well and enjoying the season.
It has been a busy time for us. As previously announced, the SS United States Redevelopment Project is completing its coordination of the SS United States Conservancy's Request for Proposals for redevelopment of the SS United States. Though we had anticipated concluding this process at the end of November, circumstances in both Pennsylvania and New York require us to extend the selection process. The good news is that we are making steady progress in both cities and expect to have greater definition and progress in the very near future.
Thank you for you continued interest and support for our efforts. As we expected, it has been quite a complex process, given the unusual nature of our concept and the significant costs involved. However, the prospects for the ship's redevelopment continue to be very promising.
Please know that we are making every effort to honor the SS United States' design and legacy as we pursue the ship's redevelopment. The Conservancy's exciting museum and preservation plans are also advancing and I hope you will respond generously to the organization's annual appeal. Susan Gibbs, the Conservancy's executive director, will offer a further update later this week on how everyone can contribute to the preservation effort.
Best regards,
Dan McSweeney
Managing Director
