This incredible human error meant that the message from the new President Nicos Anastasiades to welcome-in the New Year of 2014 was not shown and instead was erroneously replaced the the 2012 message of Christofias.
What's interesting here is that the old 2012 message Christofias gave did not give a proper indication or warning about the critical events that would later transpire in March 2013. Subsequently the replaying of this message was like salt in the wounds of affected Cypriots like a bad memory.
The CyBC are now vowing to conduct an inquiry. Meanwhile, poor President Anastasiades who came to power in February 2013 has still to properly welcome the country in on state TV. No doubt this saved the nation of CyBC watchers from another potential speech about hardships in Cyprus.
