Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. announced a new Chief Human Resources Officer

Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. appointed a consumer products veteran as SVP and chief human resources officer. Paul T. Paker brings more than 20 years of experience with leading brands including Sabra Dipping Co., Deloitte & Touche, Colgate Palmolive, Campbell Soup and Nabisco Food Co.

Parker stood out for his comprehensive knowledge of the latest HR best practices, said his new boss, Adam Goldstein, president and chief operating of Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd.

'His background and skills are ideally suited for the role of leading and managing our HR organization as we strive to identify, hire, develop, motivate and retain the best employees, both shipboard and shore side, responsible for providing our guests with extraordinary vacations,' Goldstein added.

Parker most recently served as VP and chief human resources officer for Sabra Dipping Co., where he established a market-based compensation system, revised the selection and on-boarding process and reduced turnover by 50% while increasing employee engagement scores by 25%.

Prior to that, Parker was the senior client partner for BSG Partners. Throughout his career, he has held a variety of management positions, including chief people officer for Deloitte and vice president of human resources for Colgate Palmolive.

At year-end 2014, Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. (excluding the 50% joint venture, TUI Cruises) employed more than 64,000 people, including 58,000 shipboard and 5,700 full-time and 600 part-time employees in shore side operations.
