Luxury cruise company Celebrity Cruises has launched Family Tour Challenge, a new programme of shore excursions, designed exclusively for teenage families. Each tour has been developed to enable travellers to discover the world together through entertaining, competitive and enriching experiences. Each tour is shorter than standard excursions in duration, yet still packed with adventure and fun in order to make them more enjoyable for 12 – 17 year olds.
The new programme of excursions covers a range of activities including a Spanish family flamenco dance-off in Barcelona, learning to sail and take part in a mini regatta in Bermuda or even taking part in a gondoliering challenge through Venice.
Jo Rzymowska, managing director, Celebrity Cruises, UK and Ireland, explains:
"Family holidays are made by ensuring that all of the activities and adventures work well for children as well as parents. We're extending our award-winning approach to children's activities on Celebrity Cruises' ships into our on-land shore excursion programme. The new programme has been developed to allow families to learn new skills, have fun together and embrace a little competitive spirit along the way."
The Family Tour Challenge excursions include:
Join Celebrity Equinox on a 14 night fly cruise to the Italy and Greek Isles, from £5594 (based on a family of four sharing an interior cabin – two adults and two children aged under 11 years). Price includes return flights from London Heathrow, calling at Athens for the Athens Sightseeing and Family Olympics excursion (prices from $89 per adult and $59 per child – excursion is additional to fly-cruise price).
Note: Price based on a 24 August 2015 departure.
