Royal Caribbean Celebrates New "Quantum" Class Ships

August 2 was an exciting and crucial day for Royal Caribbean as the keel was officially put into place in the popular Quantum of the Seas, scheduled to start sailing in the autumn of 2014.

On this occasion, Quantum's sister-ship, Anthem of the Seas, "had its first piece of steel cut, signaling the first step in the ship's construction."

For all Off Radar readers not familiar with the groundbreaking "Quantum" class, all Quantum ships will debut new unprecedented features, such as RipCord by iFLY, the first skydiving experience at sea; the North Star, an engineering marvel that transports guests more than 300 feet above the ocean; transformative venues, the largest indoor sports and entertainment complex at sea with bumper cars, roller skating and more.

The Quantum class will debut in autumn 2014 with Quantum of the Seas, followed by her sister-ship Anthem of the Season spring 2015.
