Cruise Industry in China will Face Challenges

China is now the biggest source market for international travel as Chinese travelers alone have spent n the region of $102 billion in 2012.

We couldn't help but wonder whether the Chinese Cruise Industry will be as successful?

According to the 2013 Cruise Industry News Annual Report, it is too early to tell, as only a handful of ships are dedicated to the Chinese and Asian markets. One would expect the constant growth of the Chinese middle class to be converted to a Cruise Passengers' growth.

No doubt, China has been taking big steps towards development for years now in a similar way to many western countries in the industrial revolution era.

However, it's important to keep in mind that when it comes to a market like Chinese, deep-rooted customs, traditions and mindsets will definitely come in the way, considering that only a small percentage of the employees take paid vacations in China and travel is regulated by the government.
