According to dnata's official announcement, Mr.Grant Holmes "will support dnata's business development activities, help the company establish strategic alliances and provide specialized cruise training to team members."
As the exclusive ground handler for Costa Cruises, dnata ensures a smooth transition for cruise passengers from airport to cruise terminal. The company also manages the on-shore excursions for passengers, providing uniquely Middle Eastern experiences while they are in Dubai. During the 2012-2013 cruise season the company assisted more than 85,000 passengers.
"dnata's cruise operations have grown considerably since we began working with the cruise lines, however more opportunities are available, which is why we brought Grant on board," said Deborah Bevan, Leisure and Operations Manager, dnata. "We know Grant will work to build our reputation as the region’s leading cruise specialists."
Grant brings more than 25 years of experience in various areas of hospitality and tourism. His cruise experience dates back to 1999 when he set-up, recruited, trained and developed the First Choice Cruise team. He later joined the Festival Cruise team as the company's Director of On-Board Revenue / Marketing, Shore Excursions, and Tour Operations.
Today Grant spearheads Progress International, a company with an extensive client list, which includes Costa Crociere, Aida Cruises, Iberocruceros, Seachefs (featuring 31 ocean and river going vessels), Louis Cruises, World Federation of Tourist Guides Associations, the Government of Cyprus, Shurooq, Sharjah Tourism Authority and several international ports & tourism companies.
