Germany is returning to Cruise Europe in the form of Bremerhaven and Wismar while Bordeaux brings the number of French members to five.
For three years this northern European port association has felt the absence of such a significant destination and source market as Germany.
Jens Skrede, managing director, said: “Bremerhaven and Wismar are both very attractive ports that will provide a missing link in the membership of Cruise Europe. I have visited both ports, and the chaiman joined on our Wismar visit. We were impressed with the facilities and the people at each. By joining forces Columbus Cruise Center strengthens the brand and the offering.”
In France, Bordeaux is also an important addition being the only member situated between Cherbourg and Bilbao. “This wine capital of the world is a very attractive destination,” commented Skrede who will be visiting in the near future.
Michael McCarthy, chairman CE, commented: “We are certain that our new members will gain from being a part of the strong network that is Cruise Europe. Cruise Europe is committed to a broad strategy of promoting northern and Atlantic Europe and is the ‘umbrella’ organisation under which the regional associations and alliances thrive.”
