This certainly seems like an ambitious and positive idea for cruises who are looking for something different.  Where once a route like this took immigrants looking for a new life, now can be taking with enjoyment and pleasure.  This is something we will watch with pleasure during the development stages.

“Project Orient Limited” is planning to build two ocean liners to sail regular service between Southampton and Sydney, according to various reports, and also, most importantly, pending financing.

The Project is looking for financing to launch two 100,000-ton ships. The brand is proposing bringing back the “golden age of travel,” with the ship taking 20 nights to go from Southampton to Sydney, with a stop in Fremantle (Perth) at the 20 day mark. Plans also call to stop in Dubai, Singapore and Mumbai.

The Metro reported that Stephen Payne has been brought onboard to design the ship. Payne was the naval architect behind the Queen Mary 2.
