Royal Caribbean Assists Fishing Boat Distress

A first hand and exclusive report on Cruise Critic states that . . . "Royal Caribbean's 5,400-passenger Oasis of the Seas came to the aid of a fishing boat dead in the water near the Caymans on Wednesday.

Travel writer and regular Cruise Critic contributor David Molyneaux witnessed the event, which occurred yesterday afternoon as the ship was steaming for Cozumel. "Captain Trym Selvag stopped Oasis and sent two engineers to fix the problem (after a security team checked out the fishing boat)," Molyneaux wrote in an e-mail to Cruise Critic. "The Captain said Oasis' crew provided the fishing boat with a fresh battery, fresh water, and got the engine working again."
