Regent Seven Seas is starting its 20th Anniversary season celebrations with the launch of their authentic Italian restaurant on all three ships. Sette Mari which translates from the Italian ‘Seven Seas’ at La Veranda offers a casual dining experience where diners can choose from a wide selection of authentic Italian cuisine prepared by a range of expert chefs.
Each evening the popular La Veranda offer an extensive range of antipasti and Italian speciality items complimented with authentic Italian wines. Each dish will be cooked to order by Regent Seven Seas Cruises’ talented chefs and served to you either in the restaurant or if you prefer, outside under the stars.
As you arrive you will be presented with a sampling of antipasti including aged Parmesan cheese, marinated olives, bruschetta, veal meatballs and savoury pastry stuffed with tomatoes and mozzarella. To compliment this an elaborate antipasti bar is also available to select from.
First course could be speciality pasta of the day prepared freshly at the pasta station or maybe a traditional pasta dish from the menu such as alla Carbonara, Penne Rigate alla Bolegnese, Gnocchi de Patate al Pesto and Lasagna al Forno.
Secondi piatti, or entrees will include Cioppino, a classic Italian seafood stew with lobsater, shrimp, scallops, clams and calamari in a white wine, garlic, parsley and fresh tomato broth. Cioppino is always served with plenty of crusty Italian bread for dipping. Guests can also choose from menu delicacies such as veal chops, lamb chops and Mediterranean sea bass to name but a few.
Desert comprises of a selection of delicious and traditional Italian sweets as well as the firm favourite, Tiramisu.
Sette Mari will debut on Seven Seas Navigator on 30th May 2012 and follow on Seven Seas Voyager on 2nd July 2012 and Seven Seas Mariner on 13th July 2012. Sette Mari is open for dinner only, reservations are not required.
In addition to this fantastic new offering Regent Seven Seas offers many other dining options to suit all tastes including: Prime 7 American Steakhouse, Compass Rose, the ships elegant dining room serving continental specialities and signatures restaurant serving authentic French cuisine.
“This new restaurant concept is a substantial enhancement to current menu items featured for dinner in La Veranda,” according to Bernhard Klotz, culinary director for Regent Seven Seas Cruises.
“Sette Mari will not require reservations based on guest feedback and offers the perfect complement to the dining venues on our ships,” stated Mark Conroy, the line’s president. “After a full day ashore, guests can select appetizers and the house-made pasta on their own and be finished in as little as 45 minutes or enjoy a leisurely evening ordering specialties from the menu.”
