Coast Guard Rescue's Woman off Cruise Ship

PORTSMOUTH, Va. — "A Coast Guard rescue helicopter crew medevaced a 47-year-old woman off a cruise ship approximately 115 miles northeast of Cape Henry Friday night.

The captain of the cruise ship Norwegian Jewel contacted Coast Guard watchstanders at approximately 5 p.m. reporting they had a woman with abdominal pains who was in need of medical attention.

An MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter and an HC-130 Hercules airplane from Coast Guard Air Station Elizabeth City, N.C. were dispatched to the scene...."
