Voyages of Discovery wins Best Value for Money Award by the editors of Cruise Critic
The editors of Cruise Critic have awarded ocean cruise line company Voyages of Discovery with the Best Value for Money Award in their 2011 Editors picks. 2011's 25 awards were hand-selected by Cruise Critic's UK editorial staff, experts in the field who've collectively sailed on hundreds of cruises, from tiny expedition vessels to river cruisers to the world's largest ships. Cruise Critic explain their thinking for bestowing this prestigious industry accolade on Voyages of Discovery, “Easy on the wallet but strong on culture, with a superb onboard speaker programme and adventurous itineraries in an unpretentious setting, Voyages of Discovery will only go from strength to strength with the introduction of a second ship in 2012”.
It has been a busy award season for Voyages of Discovery – the renowned cruise line recently took home 4th place at The Guardian and Observer Travel Awards and won Best Niche Cruise Line at the British Travel Awards, all within the span of a couple of months; a clear affirmation for the cruise line’s tremendous popularity amongst consumers.
Voyages of Discovery offers passengers a unique and specialised cruising experience that is like no other holiday. Discovery’s smaller size accommodates around 650 passengers, allowing it to visit ports and destinations which larger cruise liners are unable to, bringing each destination to life with renowned guest speakers.
Voyages of Discovery’s Managing Director, Alan Murray commented: “As a company that always strives to place our passenger’s needs at the forefront of our strategies, we are really proud to be recognised by the editors of Cruise Critic in this particular category. In times of austerity and cost consciousness, value for money is of great concern to our customers and this award should further reinforce to our customers what superb value for money we offer.”
