This article shows the devastating situation of the Alabama Cruise Terminal in Mobile, Alabama. After spending $20 million dollars to firm up the cruising industry, Carnival has pulled out and made New Orleans its new home base. Carnival having to reshuffle ships due to a variety of constant changes, it has left Mobile behind with no replacement and the city left with a bill that will be next to impossible in today’s economy to pay off. Question now? Will a cruise line put a ship in Mobile? Why not, with more people not willing to travel far away from home, Mobile offers a great chance to explore the good old U.S.A of the South and allow foreigner visitors a taste of our Southern Hospitality. I sincerely hope Carnival will find a ship to go back there or someone else to take up the offer.
