Mar 24, 2011 — Police officials in Dubai announced Thursday they have intercepted an illegal arms shipment containing some 16,000 pistols of varying calibers destined for Yemen. The shipment originated in Turkey, and entered Dubai after first passing through an Egyptian port. Six UAE residents have been arrested and charged for their roles in the smuggling operation.
