The Russian navy on Thursday finally delivered the formerly "hijacked" Maltese-flagged MV Arctic Sea to the Maltese authorities. You may remember that the Arctic Sea is the cargo ship that supposedly was seized by pirates near Sweden in late July and then sailed to the waters off the Canary Islands before the Russian Navy was able to retake the ship and capture the hijackers.
The entire incident has been a mystery with rumors that the ship was carrying an illicit cargo of Russian S300 air-defense missiles bound for Iran, and Israel's spy agency Mossad was involved in uncovering the alleged smuggling operation.

"The Arctic Sea was allowed to enter the Grand Harbour in Valletta last night after the Maltese Civil Protection Department declared it free of radiation and chemical hazards."
