Dithering in Falmouth hinders cruise tourism

Ongoing problems in the UK south west port of Falmouth over who is to foot the bill for a major capital dredging project to allow large cruise ships to berth alongside is seriously hampering the development of cruise tourism in the region.  Plans for the berthing of large cruise ships alongside in Falmouth port have been under discussion for the past 10 years. Many of the world’s leading cruise lines have told the port that they want to bring mega ships to the port but won’t do so until they can be berthed alongside and dedicated cruise terminal.  The likes of RCI, Celebrity and HAL are not in favour of tendering large numbers of passengers to and from mega ships in Falmouth Bay. But still the arguments go on about who is going to pay for the dredging!
