Cruise & Maritime Voyages – new UK operator

Cruise & Maritime Voyages is the name of the UK’s newest cruise operator. The new cruise line has been established by Cruise & Maritime Services International, which has been General Sales Agents for Germany’s Transocean Tours since 2006.

The UK Company’s successful marketing of the 820 passenger capacity Marco Polo for the last two summers to British travellers has prompted Cruise & Maritime Services International to charter the ship for five years from her owners, Piraeus-based Global Maritime Group.

Following a short refit Marco Polo will sail on 2 January 2010 from her new homeport of Tilbury to the Caribbean and South America, before returning to Europe for a summer season of cruises from the UK to the Baltic, Iceland, the Mediterranean, Canary Islands and round Britain voyages. The new UK cruise line is also chartering the 800 passenger capacity Ocean Countess for the 2010 and 2011 seasons from Majestic International Cruises. To ensure product continuity Global Maritime Group will provide Ocean Countess’ hotel, marine and entertainment management services, as they do for Marco Polo.
